Poetic License

Not only do I like to write book reviews, but I also LOVE to write poems. Most of mine have a message: be yourself. Here is one of my first and best.

Me As A Tree. Likewise, A Tree as Me.
By: Chase Pixley

Some days I look at a tree
And think "What if it were me?"
It would not know what to do,
Nor how to talk, walk, or chew.
It would surely die you see,
For a tree could not be me.

Likewise, if I were a tree,
It would be an odd life for me.
I would photosynthesize,
And serve as a home to that who flies.
I would flaunt my branches through the air,
As my leaves russle like hair,
No, I would not like to be a tree.
And a tree, I see, would not like to be me.
